Our Committee
The Mid-County Democratic Committee (MCDC) is an organization formed to represent Democrats living in three municipalities in Delaware County: Edgmont, Middletown, and Upper Providence. MCDC is one of the 40 municipal committees representing the 49 municipalities within Delaware County. The Delaware County Democratic Committee is one of 67 county committees that make up the Pennsylvania Democratic State Committee, the governing body of the Pennsylvania Democratic Party.
The committee members of MCDC are dedicated to recruiting, supporting and electing Democrats to local offices. Committee members:
Support candidates for municipal councils (Edgmont, Middletown, and Upper Providence), school boards (Rose Tree Media), and Magisterial District Judges within our municipalities. We also support municipal candidates for Tax Collector, Auditor, and Constable.
Create and distribute campaign materials and canvass, especially during local election years.
Help find volunteers to staff the polls in our municipalities.
Participate in the activities the Recruiting Committee and at least one additional Standing Committee.
We are building a strong infrastructure for progress, and we welcome all residents who want to make a difference and get involved in local politics.
Governing Documents
Mid-County Democratic Committee is governed by the Bylaws of the Delaware County Democratic Committee.
Mid-County Democratic Committee has adopted Local Rules in addition to the aforementioned governing bylaws.
